Bringing customers and stakeholders into our decision-making
Our engagement groups are our primary forum for ongoing and meaningful engagement with our customers and stakeholders. They provide important insights that help deepen our understanding of what they value and expect from us, now and into the future.
We're continually working to improve the way we engage with these groups to ensure the voice of all Tasmanian energy users are heard and considered when we're making decisions that might affect them.
Our engagement group model
Our engagement groups include a carefully selected range of customers and stakeholders, designed to reflect the diversity of lived experiences of Tasmanian energy users, as well as those in the energy supply chain.
Customer Advisory Group: By incorporating the perspectives and experiences of our residential and small business customers, this group ensures our strategic and operational decisions are aligned with their needs and priorities. Main topics areas covered in this group include energy services and processes, tariffs, and customer experience issues, allowing for more tailored customer-centric solutions.
Stakeholder Advisory Group: This group provides a broad perspective by representing the interests of communities, groups, and organizations. By focusing on strategic energy issues, TasNetworks' corporate strategy, regulatory proposals, and policies, it ensures decisions being made are in the best interests of TasNetworks' customers as a whole.
Technical Working Group: Issues affecting the energy industry are explored in depth by this group. By delving into issues involving connections, assets, and processes, this group helps identify technical challenges and opportunities for improvement within the energy sector.
Local Government Working Group: With representation from 27 local council areas, this group addresses issues specific to B2B interactions and work involving councils and TasNetworks. From streetlights to vegetation management and subdivisions, this group ensures that TasNetworks is responsive to the unique needs of councils as a whole and individually.
Major Projects Working Groups: These dedicated groups focus on specific projects and involve members directly impacted by these initiatives. By engaging with stakeholders at a granular level, these groups facilitate effective communication, stakeholder input, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
